Suggester says: "This piece of art calls for awareness for depression, it is a very personal piece of art, but somehow personally made for everyone who once suffered or still is suffering from a depression. The strength is in the openness of the artist and the commentators."

Depression: Dont; let it take YOUR life.
Silver, gold, and white pigment ink (uni-ball Signo Broad) on foamboard 20x30 inches (50,8 x 76,2 cm). Biggest, most complicated and time-consuming piece I've ever done :D Hands and arms are real size, maybe an inch bigger; I held them above the board and traced their shadow.
They're my own and my husband's. :iconjeff-in-canada: Thank you to Jeff-in-Canada for advise. Without him, this wouldn't be.
And yes, I'm self-conscious about it. ;) I too, suffer from chronic depression.
*****
Depression. One of the major causes of taking off from work when compared to other medical disease. Affecting more than 19 million people in America alone. Depression can occur to anyone, at any age, and to people of any race or ethnic group. For people between the ages of 15 and 44, suicide is the 4th leading cause of death and the 6th leading cause of disability and infirmity worldwide. (More than 90 percent of people who kill themselves have a diagnosable mental disorder, most commonly a depressive disorder or a substance abuse disorder.) Depression is NOT something a person can just `snap out` of. Medical help is needed. Clinical Depression is a common, real and serious illness.
:#1: It is also treatable. :iconyesyesyesplz:
If you suspect you, or anybody you know, may suffer from depression, or any other medical or mental disorder, seek medical advise now. Help is available. Do talk about how you feel to your loved ones. There are more people who understand how you feel than you think. Or if not, are willing to help, despite not yet fully understanding. Depression. Don`t let it OVER-take YOUR life. Don`t let it TAKE your life.
