Description

Acrylic on canvas, 16x20. Blue, metallic-: silver, gold, white, blue, green and pink markers.

What a magic piece.. there's no way to show exact colours because with every bit of light they seem to change! Will try again tomorrow at daylight but I quite like the fairytale effect myself. Acrylics in background are mixture of dark and light blues, metallic blue and green, and a little bit of white, applied as a wave. Its interesting to see how the newly applied colours change appearrance and even colour, depending on what kind of background they're covering.
Well, I'm quite liking this myself :woohoo: :lmao:

ETA: the title? The little yellow submarine thingies.. they look like those old diver helmets. don't they? Well, once I had that image in my mind, it wouldnt let go. The dots must be the dreaming part. I tried another title but it just wouldn't work. Hence. :giggle: So *submarine dreaming* it is.

this painting is almost overwhelming there is so much detail and at the same time it makes all sorts of patterns that seem different when viewed at different angles and from different distances.

this seems to be more colors than you usually use? i like it. it's very alive. each big circle made of little circles appears to be a little different from every other one. painting the background is a masterstroke because it is so much more vivid and varied than it would be if it were just colored paper. i would just LOVE to see this in person.

the tiny dots are simply mesmerizing. my mind is just screaming to copy it! (don't worry, won't, or if i do i won't post it!) did i ask you this before--do you use a stencil for the circles or freehand?

there are a couple of streaky looking spots, a little further than half way down, is that just a spot where the paint in the background was lighter than the rest, or is it intentional?

the dark red looks really good wit the rich blues and greens.

what did working on that for a long time do to your eyes? were you able to keep focusing that precisely? do you wear glasses? just reviewing it is making my eyes feel tired!

hahahaha! i just thought that this looked like really smooth, quiet gears. or it also makes me think of how the sky looked to pre histotic people, just looking up at the sky and wondering what the hell all that was.

the amazing orderliness of it is very restful for my OCD brain.

i think you've done a magnificent job! top scores all round!
