Description

white marker (pigment ink) (Uni-ball Signo broad) on black on black foam board cut to 20x20.
Not sure whether this piece is finished. I see myself go back to it repeatedly.. and my hand keeps hovering over it and I have to really force myself to hold, and wait. Wait.. until I know if the circles want to be worked, or not. Even the idea of making their dots a little bigger, probably into those half white/half black circles like in the middle one. Shall I or shouldn't I? I am really not quite sure.. what do you think?
I was proud that after weeks of practising, I finally mastered the "entertwined cables* I learnt from seeing vhartley's astonishing work (see below). But I think it didn't quite work here. They should've been on outside, not inside. Filling them in was a bad move too. So this piece taught me.. go slooow. I had to fill those cables in somehow, cause my circle-lines were visible under the crosslines! dumb grrrr :eager:
More proud and pleased I am however - that finally.. I'm slowly discovering my own little designs and movements! No longer using existing shapes or things I've seen around. But I will have to keep on learning the bases from other artists.. boy, there's some amazing work out there! *eyes popping every day* :
Other than that, I see myself learning something from each piece and carrying it over to the next one. Painting and drawing is really quite the trip! :boogie:
