bedtime story by Lou-in-Canada bedtime story by Lou-in-Canada
pitt artist pen and Prismacolor Scholar colour pencils on bristol vellum 11x14. this is my first drawing using colour pencils. Also first attempt at trying to draw directly with the pencils, instead of colouring shapes that were done with pitt pen first. Kinda nice, but looking awfully sweet, doesn't it? :lmao:

thanks quaddles. I loved making this one. I never had given other people working on my circles much thought. So normally I go from pencil work to colouring without taking a shot of the finished black and white version. Sometimes I even start putting in colour while it's not even finished yet. *Gotta try finish one before using colour and should photograph it too* makes mental note

I hadn`t either until recently now I`m scanning them before I finish - good way of backing it up when it all goes wrong and gets thrown in the bin - happens quite a bit when drawing them

thank you! :) the colours are so different than from what I would have normally used. Cant wait to get the other pencils. I'm not good with shading yet, so I ordered 36. But not a set, all open stock. Nice that that is possible! Their colours are so splendid! I'm pretty excited about my newly acquired pencils. Hopefully they;ll be delivered on monday :D

36 pencils???
wow. I think it would have confused me. on the other hand this is realy a very rich variety,
I truely wonder if it's good to have so many colors. you will have to tell me how it feels once you begin.

yeah, i think i am very spoiled. :D Then again, i don't know how to mix colours so well. Also, I didnt want to "steal" your palette, for that is your trademark :lmao: But i will try to do as you do, and pick a few colours to begin with, and see what I can do with that. You're a master at colouring. Me, I am only a mere beginner. I think there will be a LOT of learning involved. A lOT. You make it look so easy. But I'm finding out, from my little trials with pencils, that it is everything bUt easy. In fact, it's pretty difficult  It will be a nice challenge :w00t: Did you see on this bedtime story, I actually tried drawing with the pencil, insteaad of making a shape first? I was pretty proud of myself :lmao:
